Wow, Masa’s Collection Is Impressive

Posted in General, Economics, Grad Life by csilvey on the November 23rd, 2005

Masa Kudamatsu, a PhD student at LSE, has collected quite an impressive list of links that address the transition from a lowly undergraduate to a mighty economics professor. Every stage of the process of becoming an economist is covered.

There are multiple links covering the following subjects…

  • Applying for PhD programs in economics
  • How to proceed with your PhD life
  • Choosing a research topic
  • Building a theoretical model
  • Seminar Presentation
  • Presentation of your research (either in a seminar or in a paper)
  • Writing a paper
  • Going on the job market…
  • After becoming an assistant professor…
  • Great work Masa.

      Hi Chris,

This is a great blog - do you know of anything similar for accounting PhD hopefuls?

      Thanks,
      Mick

I am not aware of a similar site that covers the accounting PhD world (a world I assume is infintesimally small). It seems to me that the only use for an accounting PhD is to become an academic. I think industry would prefer a CPA/MBA/JD to a PhD. Good luck with your goals.
