Cornell Econ PhD 2005 Micro Q Results
The Q results were announced today. The early word is, yet again, the students were slaughtered. I feel for you guys. I’ll write more when I know more. How did you do Govind?
Update: 33% pass rate for Applied Econ at Cornell this year…I can’t get anyone to talk about what happened at the pure econ department…the lack of willingness to talk about it tells me that the numbers are not very good in econ either. Damn!
Update II: The study group I abondened multiple times passed with flying colors. Congratulations to Jessica, Ian, and Amanda. Good job.
Sorry For the Lack of Productivity
I am really busy at the moment. Laura and I just moved, I am taking two classes, and my full-time job has turned into a full-time job (who knew?). In the meantime…I figured I should give my loyal readers a present to reward their patients with me…
Your’e welcome.

Uncle Gates Has Some Rules I Don’t Like
I have deleted the ‘links’ category in my favorites three times today…and it keeps coming back. See picture below…
Why does Microsoft think I must have a favorites folder called ‘links’….why wont uncle Gates let me delete it and personalize my favorites the way I want?
Liquid Sugar
What images does the name Liquid Sugar conjure up in your head?
When builder Pulte Homes tore down an old corn syrup plant in Emeryville two years ago to make way for new town homes, office wags began referring to the project as “Liquid Sugar.”
Later, when it came time to finalize the complex’s moniker, some thought the nickname should be scrapped.
“People said, ‘It sounds drug related, like crystal meth or something,’ ” said Merry Sedlak, director of marketing at Pulte Homes Northern California division in Pleasanton. “But I said, I’m not changing it.”
